The hot topic flowing through the internet tonight is the biggest thing since slice bread and social networking sites twitter and reddit are the bread and nutella. In the wake of MineCon, what could have been an awesome dreamy weekend for the Yogscast folk could well turn out to be a nightmare, as Minecraft developer and creator of Mojang, Markus Persson aka Notch took to twitter to vent his anger about recent events.

According to Notch’s Twitter page:

“I’m very sorry about the behavior of the people we won’t work with any more. Celebrity or not, you don’t f-bomb kids.”

And then after:

Wow. Hate, insults and threats are flooding in from Yogscast fans. I’ll stop biting my tongue now.Yogscast repeatedly insulted people, talked behind their backs, refused to cooperate, and acted like total spoiled divas nonstop. They called us “a bunch of nerds who don’t know how to run a company”, demanded that we pay them to come here (nobody else got paid).

And they claim they’re the reason minecraft is big and that we should thank them more than anyone else in the community. They’re total dicks

A kid wanted them to sign something I had signed, and they said they’d cross it out and put “fuck you” there instead.

Everyone else in the Minecraft community is all about respecting and caring. They’re not. They’re an isolated island of egos.

This drama is still going on, and with one side of the argument blasted all over Twitter and Reddit, the duo of Yogscast haven’t really said anything for themselves since they won’t be back in the UK for 24 hours. A formal vlog has been scheduled for their arrial, and a lot Yognaughts are nervously awaiting their reply. While they wait, @Notch’s twitter feed has already shown a big difference with more than half of those who post their response and thoughts, leaning towards the Minecraft creator. Many think that this is a simple hoax or misunderstanding due to culture differences between the two. With Reddit’s feed of the incident is filling to the brim, The Game Station’s own TotalBiscuit, who have worked with and is close friends with the Yogscast duo, was quick to defend the two who are unable to defend themselves by saying, it was probably their humor that got in the way of things and that Mojang should not be quick to condemn them. All in all, its has been a very surreal night, and we will have to keep a very close eye on the situation. There are two sides to every story and it could be as much as a simple misunderstanding that has triggered this incident, either way it seems that Mojang is reluctant to work with the Youtube stars ever again. Then again only time will tell.
